Troubleshoot a failed or unfinished upload

Check the file, connection, permissions, and team storage before retrying.

Read the upload message

An upload can fail because the file exceeds the allowed size, the team has insufficient storage, you lack upload permission, or the network request failed. The message is the best starting point.

Check the upload activity for the affected file. Keep the tab open and your computer awake while a large transfer is running.

Check the relevant limit

  • File too large: reduce or split the source file before uploading again.
  • Storage allowance reached: ask the Owner to review Usage and the team’s existing files.
  • Read-only workspace: ask the Owner to review the subscription.
  • Permission denied: confirm that you have an Owner, Admin, or Creator role in this team.

Retry carefully

Restore your connection and retry the failed upload using the available controls. Check the library before starting another copy of the same transfer.

If it continues to fail, contact Support with the file type, approximate size, team name, and exact error. If upload succeeded but only the preview is missing, use the file-preview troubleshooting steps instead.
