Why is a published item locked?

Understand the editing rules for published and archived content.

Published content is a record

Once an item is Published, its content is locked in the editor. This includes the writing surface and channel-specific fields such as hashtags. Archived content is also locked.

The lock is separate from your team’s subscription state. An Owner or Creator can have full editing access to active drafts and still see a published item as locked.

Correct the public destination

If the public URL is missing or changes, use the item’s Add live link or Update live link action where available. This keeps the destination attached to the record without editing its published copy.

Plan a new version

Create a new content item for a follow-up or revised deliverable. If your role offers a workflow action to move existing content back into an editable stage, review the status change carefully before using it.

Changing a record in Pyroplane does not edit or remove anything already published on LinkedIn or your website. Make changes to the live item on its original platform.
