Why is my team read-only?

Distinguish subscription restrictions from role permissions and locked content.

Check the subscription

A team can become read-only when its billing state does not allow changes. The app shows an activation or billing message, and the Subscription page explains the current state.

Ask the team Owner to open Subscription and use the action offered to activate or manage billing. Admins and other members cannot change the subscription.

Check whether the restriction is narrower

  • Only some actions are missing: check your role and collaborator assignment.
  • Only a published or archived item is locked: that is the content editing rule.
  • An upload fails: check file size, storage, and your upload permission.
  • An invitation fails: check remaining seats and which roles you are allowed to invite.

After billing is resolved

Return to the workspace and check its updated subscription status. If it still reports read-only access after the Owner completes the billing step, contact Support with the team name and visible status.

Keep a copy of any unsaved work before reloading a page to troubleshoot.
